At WCMA we strive to instill in visitors a love of art and an appreciation for the excitement that can be found in a museum. Although our museum highlights American, non-Western, and 20th century art, all different kinds of art can be experienced at WCMA. Educational programs expose students to new ideas and possibilities and help them find common themes among a variety of art works and installations.

All of WCMA's educational programs encourage active participation and group interaction:

  • School tours include art projects, imaginative games, and discussions. We have tours for elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools.
  • Our family programs provide opportunities for parents and children to talk about art and create art together.
  • Programs for teachers give teachers information and experience to bring students to the museum and art to their classrooms.

Kidspace @ MASS MoCA is a collaborative project sponsored by MASS MoCA, the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, and the Williams College Museum of Art (WCMA). The Kidspace consortium is eager to expand the role that art museums play in the life of the community.
