College Museum of Art to Host Open House for Local Teachers and School
Administrators
September 17, 3:30 p.m. at WCMA
Area teachers and school administrators are invited to WCMA's annual open
house on Tuesday, September 17, 2002 at 3:30 p.m. This open house is an
opportunity to learn more about the museum's award winning programs for
school children, special after-school events, and workshops for teachers,
as well as to reconnect with old friends and colleagues.
Barbara Robertson, WCMAs Director of Education, will speak about
the fall tours entitled WCMA in 3-Dimensions and Something
About Space. Both tours are part of the new program of Do-It-Yourself
visits. Teachers will also get a preview of the spring semesters
guided tours entitled Spirit of Tibet and Great Tibetan
Trek, which will begin in March 2003. In addition, Williams College
student Museum Associates will be on hand to discuss a few of WCMA's fall
exhibitions, and sample classroom materials, activity baskets, and curriculum
will be displayed. Light refreshments will be served.
All of WCMAs educational tours and programs are free. In addition,
the museum is able to defray the cost of schools busing expenses
for most museum visits. For information about the open house or other
programs offered by the education department, call 413.597.2038.
