Williams College Museum of Art Presents
Vive le Roi! Family Days
Thursday April 21: 10 am–12 noon and 1 pm–3 pm
Friday April 22: 10 am–12 noon and 1 pm–3 pm
Saturday April 23: 10 am–3 pm

Williams College Museum of Art (WCMA) presents Vive le Roi! (Long Live the King!) Family Days, three days of special programming for families from Thursday, April 21 through Saturday, April 23. Families are invited to experience the exhibition The Book of Kings: Art, War, and the Morgan Library’s Medieval Picture Bible with a special Vive le Roi!  activity guide. Children can admire themselves in Medieval garb, learn to write letters in 13th-century script, and create craft projects from Blazing Banners to woven Penny Pouches.  There will be a book corner and a Medieval Time Travel story table. On Friday, come and watch a craftsman make real chain mail! Thursday and Friday hours are 10 am–12 noon and 1 pm–3 pm.

Saturday’s family hours are extended, from 10 am-3 pm, to accommodate additional exciting activities—work on your juggling skills with a medieval juggling troupe, interact with the Roving Beasts (masked performers wandering through the museum), and learn the trade of a village scribe. Sample delicious medieval treats. Admission to the museum and all Family Days  activities is free. All activities take place at the museum and are designed for children between the ages of 4 and 12 who are accompanied by an adult.

For more information about Vive le Roi! Family Days, or other educational programs at WCMA, please call (413) 597-2038.

All events are free and open to the public. Please check our website for additional events as they are confirmed at http://www.wcma.org/.

The Williams College Museum of Art is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Admission is free and the museum is wheelchair accessible. Contact: Suzanne Augugliaro, Public Relations Coordinator, 413.597.3178; WCMA@williams.edu; www.wcma.org.
